Groups and Regular Activities

Cuddington is a very active parish church and there are many opportunities to get involved..

Our main service is at 10am each Sunday

There are Home Groups, two specific Youth Groups, a Toddler Singing Group, the Banner Group, Bellringing and various other ways in which the church and wider community come together.

Worship for all at St Nicholas’ Cuddington

We aim to enable all people to worship with us, however old or young and whatever our taste in music. Please join us.

We join together for worship every Sunday. Some Sundays we continue together for a family service or all-age Holy Communion. Other Sundays we join in worship before children and some young people head for the Bernard Hall to re-join for the closing song.

Children and Young People

Children and young people are always very welcome at St Nicholas' Cuddington. Many of our 10.00am services have content designed to be accessible and engaging for all ages; at other times specific activity and teaching groups take place in the Bernard Hall for children and young people up to age 14. Our current plan of services and activities can be found here.

There is a carpeted area within the church itself provided for very young children.

On Sunday evenings we have two groups for young people:

Youth Café - Primarily for Year 7 Up.

2^nd Sunday - Pop-Up Youth Café in churches around the area.

4^th Sunday in Bernard Hall - Games, snacks and a pinpoint talk.

Youth Fellowship - Primarily for teenagers.

1^st and 3^rd Sundays - Chill 'n' Chat over Toast 'n' Hot Chocolate.

Informal discussion around topics relevant to today's teens.

(A new Young Leaders Programme starting soon.)

The children’s ministry on Sundays is supported by midweek groups including a Toddler Group at 9.30 on Friday mornings in term time.

There are strong links and involvement with our church school, including joint services, assemblies, and a lunchtime club.

Home Groups

To supplement the weekly Christian worship there are some three Home Groups, which meet normally on a fortnightly basis for fellowship, bible study and prayer. These are designed to reach people at different stages of their Christian journey, so newcomers are welcome to join whichever group most serves their needs.

Toddler Group

The Toddler Group is a friendly and informal toddler group, that takes place every Friday in term time in church at 9.30am. Despite our name we are open to more than just toddlers; we also enjoy the company of many mums, nannies, grandmas and childminders. We have seen babies as young as 5 days old and children on the edge of starting school.

The sessions start with a time of free play with refreshments (water and snacks for the children, coffee and tea for the adults). There are usually home-made cakes and cookies. We may sing a collection of well-known nursery rhymes and songs starting at 10.30 for about 30 minutes followed by a short story. No charge is made for this but if you wish to make a donation towards refreshments this is always acceptable.

Banner Group

This group has been in operation since 2010, when it created a banner to celebrate Christmas. Since then it has produced banners for Easter, Pentecost and Harvest which hang in St Nicholas during the relevant Church seasons.

It has also made a Dove banner, to represent Peace, which hangs over the Chancel steps. Our most recent one is illustrated and was completed in time for 2018 Remembrance Day Celebrations - to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.

This group meets from time to time, usually on a Saturday morning.

Church in the Community

Village Voice – this newsletter, published by the PCC, has its own website page.

Church Supper and Harvest Supper are events when the village as a whole is invited to come together. Details will be announced on the Church News and Events page.

Christian Aid Week is a major fixture in the church’s calendar each year and various events are organised including a bring and buy plant sale (see photograph).
